I FOUND MY FLAT!!!

YES! YES! YES!

My finding a flat is all God planned! seriously. i do not think its a coincidence that on the day my pay check came, is the day i had to put a deposit for the new flat. and mind you. its 6 wks deposit and 1 month in advance! and plus all the hidden cost like admin fee (agent fee) and some inventory company check fee, basically, my entire pay check is almost wiped out! leaving me only a few hundred pounds before my next pay check comes along! definitely something i could not have done without my pay check. see... its all God planned!

but i think its all worth it. when i started to look for a flat, my budget was between 100-150 pounds a week, but with it was kinda difficult and i was a little disheartened after looking at 2 shit bedsit last saturday. ok... definition. bed-sit = small room + little 2 stove kitchen in open plan apartment and shared toilet! i cannot accept the shared toilet bit. goodness, will it not feel like you are living in the dormitory all over again? sheesh. no way.

after the nightmarish view, i was searching like crazy on the internet the entire week after work but did not view any flats. i even up my budget by 20 pounds. sigh... anyhow, i found a studio apartment on the internet going for 150 pound a wk. and of coz all bills were all not included! wat do you expect anyway?!? i was actually prepared for that to happen already.

anyway, decided to view it anyhow. so rushed after work on friday to meet agent.

when i arrived at the flat, and saw the place, i was really really impressed. even though it was stated as a studio apartment, but because the bedroom, kitchen and bathroom were all in different rooms, it felt like a 1 bedroom apartment and for the price of a studio apartment too!

after talking to people like audrey, lenny, jon and tuna and lotsa people, i was told to look out for some details like, kitchen should be in a separate room as chinese cooking tend to be more 'nice' smelling! haha. check if shower was powerful enough. (ooo... this place comes with a long bath too! NICE!). there was more than enough electricity sockets. there was curtains also. the apartment is on the 1st floor and the flat used to be a council flat (some thing like HDB flat for commoners! haha) thus more spacious. there is even a decent couch. The kitchen looks really new and agent added that it was renovated only last year. also the last tenant was a girl, so i guess things are well taken care of.

i was mentally prepared to take up the flat already, but just had to make sure something really important as well. TRANSPORTATION!!! made the agent take a walk with me to the nearest tube station which is Arsenal on the Picadilly line. its about 4 min walk along a housing estate. The estate looks decent and safe. quite well taken care of. so i guess not exactly dodgey. there are night buses if i do go out late as well.

oh oh oh.... i have to add.. JONATHON LEOW! my place is just minutes away from the Arsenal stadium!!! it is really impressive! haha. when you coming to visit? haha.
but small little problem though. i still have not located any supermarket! hehe... but i guess i need to explore it further. i will do it tom! since i have nothing on tomorrow! =) i am really excited! finally a place to call my own! a place for you guys to come over! truth be said, my landlord was not too happy with too many of my friends staying over and it was really a HUGE push factor, well also the fact that he smokes, and he is not exactly the most tidy person. i also hate it when he is in the kitchen and i do not feel comfortable pottering around when he is there!

anyway, i am moving in come 1 sep 2007. a good start to a september ain't it? can't wait!
