Sjoukje and Leena were in london to visit me last weekend. it was a reunion after 5 years since we 1st met in Star Lake Camp in USA.Some of you may know Sjoukje already. She's THE dutch friend i have told all of you about. She abandoned Holland for Spain and is totally in LOVE with Madrid. I don't think she will be leaving Spain any time soon.
Leena, is my Estonian friend. Yes, you heard about her from me... My Estonian friend whom i visited in 2004. she was the cook in my star lake camp, but all grown up now with a house and car in Estonia. really proud of her. =)
it was a reunion... a timely one after 3.5 years (last reunion was in Estonia). As the girls have already seen london before, i concentrated on bringing them to meet my friends in london and also to savour decent chinese food. of coz we had to squeeze in a night out as well, albeit in Essex. ha! with tarty essex girls.
Dim sum.... they never realised dim sum existed. when they think of chinese food, they think of boiled rice and dishes. i opened a whole new world of chinese cuisine to them. reminded sjoukje that dim sum was the tapas equivalent.
of coz we had duck. the boys (lenny, jon and alex) and the girls feast at 4 seasons. Leena was really impressed and loved the duck. sjoukje went home to tell her flatmate ALL about it!
weekend flew by too soon and i had to face reality and go back to work! boo... but, what can i say, it was a good weekend. a weekend that will be brought up again and again in some conversations in years to come....
