Student Outreach

Started my Monday this week with a day off from work to go to the grounds of a couple of Universities. Imperial College and University College of London ( incidentally, my uni was part of UCL in Singapore, i think!) ha.

I was on a roll at Imperial college, collecting names and giving out gift packs, and i guess it was cuz most of the kids were still enrolling for courses so everyone was friendlier. I saw many singaporean kids that will be doing biochem and chem stuff. *b-o-r-i-n-g* hehe.... well, some looked really clueless. like every other new student on campus. *blur like sotong* hehe...

the rain then came, but we persevered and gave out all the packs meant for imperial. we then like all church activites, went for a nice lunch in chinatown. =) before heading to UCL for round 2.

I shudder to recall my time in UCL. i felt so much hostility there. I felt that the kids there are so hardened. their faces all had the 'do not mess with me... leave me alone' look. it was really discouraging. but this time round. some other people were on a roll and somehow we managed to give out all the packs allocated.

by then we were not quite dry, so we converged at Ming's place at Goodge street. Ming is the zone leader and a really sweet uncle who did not stop playing his chinese pop music! haha. since i was the only singaporean who listened to chinese music. we were going on and on about the music. hehe... ming would play all his music and then we would hum along to it. it was hilarious. mind you, the chinese songs were not all the old old chinese songs. it was pop songs. and ming is more updated than i am! haha...

we spent a few hours at ming's just chit chatting away before i left to go to church for my monday bible study class.... brrrr. it was cold.....

and i am so gg to bed now...... yawn!

let's hope i dun fall sick.... i have to entertain my mum with shopping this weekend when she comes! YEAH!!!!
