This is the latest exhibition at Tate Modern. After watching a movie 'Heartbreak Kid' by Ben Stiller, i went to Tate Modern for this exhibition by Doris Salcedo titled 'Shibboleth'
It has this crack in the middle of the Turbine Hall in Tate Modern and it runs down the entire hall! Quite impressive and i think they had to specially replace the concrete floor to achieve this exhibition. And just when the exhibtion opened, some silly tourist had to fall into the crack! and the crack ain't that huge a gap lor! hiaks!
The crack signifies the fracture in modernity even though there had been progress and prosperity with time.
As Salcedo writes, ‘The history of racism runs parallel to the history of modernity, and is its untold dark side’.
This is another exhibition in Tate Modern by Louise Bourgeois. This is a HUGE spider just outside the museum! Millenium Bridge is behind and across the river looks to St Paul's Cathedral. Quite cool...
I love some of her lines such as 'Art is a Guaranty of Sanity' hehe.. and she is 95 years now.
