woke up early and headed to church for service. met up with church friends, along with all the uncles like Eric, Major and Boon Yeow. hehe. my buddies. =)
My pastor was happy to see me. it was nice meeting him again.. he has been really sweet. constantly making fun of me in his weekend bulletin. He had the entire church pray for me sometimes. =) *fist thump chest...* he good man! hehe.
My ties with the Bintan ministry never severs. i even sat in in the planning meeting after service. had my kopi and prata the indian place for old times sake..
one of the top reasons for my return to singapore... my grandma...
visited her and was pleasantly surprised to meet the rest of my uncles as they pop by to visit grandma as well. grandma is getting older. hearing has gotten worse. legs are not as strong. but she is 90 years old and still very alert mentally.
her concern for me revolves around the idea of me getting hitched soon! ha. oh well...
after getting some chores done ( pants alteration, eye check up and grocery shopping) we went home before heading out to dinner.
Dinner at Crystal Jade at GWC was disapponting. xiao long bao my top thing to eat was ok. the la mian was awfully disappointing. dumplings felt like processed meat. turnip pastry was a let down... not impressed. service was not great as well.
oh well. end of day 1....
