yesterday, we had a chain mail among a few of us from my cell group. Apparently there was a prayer meeting last sat and the group prayed for me. job-wise. anyhow, my cell group leaders were sharing their thoughts about praying and seeking God. 1 of the leader decision was to do a fast and pray. really touched by them, i decided to do a fast and pray for the few people which were on the list as well.
so i spent my thursday at home reading the bible. strangely, i remembered my mami giving me a verse about God perfoming the impossible, but i never really referred to it. I always thought the verse was from Exodus 14:14. 1 of the cell member was having some issues with looking for a flat to move into and i thought this story from the bible will be an encouragement.
so i flip to Exodus 14:14. strangely, this verse was not what i had in mind. it was totally out of the blue. The verse went
"The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still."
i was like hmm... this verse was not remotely mentione by my mami, i can only conclude that God was at work. I shared this verse with the group in the mail.
This evening Melanie shared that she got a place today and mentioned that though she was stressed at work and looking at flats, my verse was an encouragement for her the entire day. How cool is my God. hehe..
I am God's messenger! yeah!
by the way, the verse my mum was referring to was from 2 kings 6: 1-7
An Axhead Floats
1 The company of the prophets said to Elisha, "Look, the place where we meet with you is too small for us.
2 Let us go to the Jordan, where each of us can get a pole; and let us build a place there for us to live."And he said, "Go."
3 Then one of them said, "Won't you please come with your servants?"
"I will," Elisha replied.
4 And he went with them. They went to the Jordan and began to cut down trees.
5 As one of them was cutting down a tree, the iron axhead fell into the water. "Oh, my lord," he cried out, "it was borrowed!"
6 The man of God asked, "Where did it fall?" When he showed him the place, Elisha cut a stick and threw it there, and made the iron float.
7 "Lift it out," he said. Then the man reached out his hand and took it.
