today's reading was taken from
13Now listen, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money." 14Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. 15Instead, you ought to say, "If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that."
how transient is our life on earth?!? a mist. pooffff! and we are gone!
the reading went on to say
'while it is wise to plan for the future, we must do so with the recognition that God's purposes might be different from ours.' hence we should say ' If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that.'
now the difficult question is, what does 'this' or ' that' refers to? i guess many people struggle with this as well. constantly wondering and seeking and usually not sure.
but the end of the passage concluded with this verse
Proverbs 16:9
A man's heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.
How comforting..
i am now praying that God will direct my steps in all that i do.... cuz i am little clueless now...
