National Portrait Gallery

I really like the National Portrait Gallery. They had a photo exhibition 'Blair at War'. Photojournalist Nick Daniger took pics of Tony Blair in March 2003, as Tony Blair took the final steps towards leading the nation to war with Iraq. I really liked all the black and white pics and the different settings taken of Blair, in his den when he is at work and when discussing with his aides. quite cool

Then had a quite walk through the BP Portrait 2007 Awards.

This Portrait really caught my eye, it was about my height. This painting, NOT photo, is by Hynek Martinec title Zuzana in Paris. This paiting was in the Young Artist award category. I recall seeing paintings in museums such as Metropolitan Arts Museum in NYC, the Lourve in Paris and Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. How captured i was with the painters in the past. But here i am staring at current day artists who can draw just as well. i am sooo impressed!

This is the other painting which caught my eye. This is Chrisa by Jaime Valero Perandones. This painter actually took a picture of his wife, but decided to paint her instead. The painting was really life-like. I had to take a second look to confirm it was a painting. You can't see it from this pic, but there were actually beads of water on her face which were so amazingly captured.
IMPRESSED!
