Mykonos - my inspiring island

we arrived in mykonos, to my mami's surprise, a 17 seater propeller plane to be picked up to Porta Mykonos hotel. This hotel belongs to the Small Luxury Hotel chain and the hotel is AMAZING! let's just say, i did not feel the need to get out of the hotel to see any part of mykonos, i was happy to be just wandering around in my hotel! it was really a treat to be in such a nice hotel. a treat because i am usually sitting in a hostel! =)

After checking into our room, i have decided that my future home will be Porta Mykonos hotel inspired. It is so calming and peaceful to be in the room. it is such a pretty looking room. we had a sea view and huge balcony as well.

we reluctantly left the hotel to get some seafood dinner by the quay front. and could not wait to go back to the room.

The next day, we had a hearty american breakfast. people who know me, knows i love a breakfast anytime of the day. anyhow, breakfast in a hotel always makes me feel that it is indeed a holiday. =) i love it.

after breakfast we joined a tour to Delos island to see the ruins. it was indeed ruins we see alright. but it was nice day out.

after returning to mykonos, we both tucked in to gyros for lunch and then went in search for the 5 famous windmill of mykonos island. we found it and also saw the area called Little Venice (houses were by the water)

after roaming the returning to the room to watch dvds. haha. the tv had bad reception, but thankfully, they had a library of dvds in the lounge area for us to borrow. i took a few dvds, but ended up watching You've got Mail 4 times and Wimbeldon 3 times. borrowed zoolander and a couple more, but it was these 2 movies that i really wanted to watch =) or at least put on repeat mode! hehe

started the last day of my holiday with my last breakfast in my favourite hotel in the world. ok, marriott in phuket and cairo came close with the sheer size, but its porta mykonos that won my heart! =) a quick rush to the town to burn our pictures into a dvd before we headed for our flight to athens where we caught our respectively flights back to singapore and london.

i really enjoyed myself in this trip and the week went by too fast. i think the greek islands are a treat and should be seen by many.
