Picturesque Santorini

Santorini is nothing i had expected, in a positive way. Yes, i saw the postcards, and the websites and have heard about it, but nothing can beat seeing it for yourself.

We had perfect weather when we arrvied at Santorini, so it was clear blue skies and blue seas... some times i was not able to see where the sea and sky separate along the horizon!! awww...

We checked intoour room at Loucas Hotel which had a balcony that faces the volcano! it was truly an amazing sight. no pictures turned out wrong. everyone can be a professional photographer in Santorini! As the the hotels are on a cliff, mami and i had daily workouts climbing up and down. But credit must be given to the porter who help us with the 25kg luggage bag! sheesh

After checking in, we took a walk around town before taking a bus to Oia, another part of Santorini. it was just as pretty. white houses, blue skies and seas.

on the 2nd day, we took a boat trip to see the volcano. we even climbed up to the top to see the crater. then we were taken to a spot where i jumped into the cold cold water and swam (with the aid of a buoy) to a spot where hot springs were seen. umm the hot springs were nothing in the cold waters. i was disppointed really, but i was glad i took the plunge! literally! =)

After we got back to shore, we took a donkey ride up the cliff. it was quite a ride as my donkey like to stop at will and love to veer close to the not too high walls. sheesh. remember we are going up a steep cliff!!

The next day we took a bus to Kamari beach. Its a beach with black sand. well, more pebble than sand. but we had 2 guides who followed us around the entire time. a pair of dogs that waited for people that alight from the bus! we rewarded them with some sasauges before we left =)

oh Kamari beach was wayyyy deserted! it was not the peak season yet. Peak season started on 1 may! and the temperature can rise to 50 degrees! CRaZY!

with that, we departed for our next island... Mykonos.
