Zurich - 1st stop!

With a bank holiday on Monday, i decided to take friday off as well to travel to switzerland. i am joined by Arnd, my german friend from R days. =) i have to say Arnd is pretty useful in this trip as he communicated with everyone in german and i just sit back and look pretty. whahah...

1st stop - Zurich. flew my Easyjet and have to say the flying was pretty pleasant. arrived at zurich, successfully bought my train ticket into town but was given the wrong direction by a local to my hotel. argh. hobbling for 45 min, i finally found my hotel.

Zurich is nice as i wandered around town by myself while waiting for Arnd to arrive. i like the efficient tram services and was surprised to see quite a few chinese eateries. arnd later said that there is not a huge number of chinese in zurich... myabe there was enough business for chinese tourist? oh well...

So there was the Munster and St Peter's church and Fraumunster with Marc Chagall's stain glass windows. but the highlight of the day was finally meeting arnd and then going for dinner in Kindli.

Kindli was a random found restaurant. It has been established since 1474!!!! we had salad starters, I had fish (it was really yummy!) and arnd had simmered beef which he exclaimed was really nice. ended with a choc dessert which had bubbles on it. to simply describe it, it would be like crab frothing when they are dead? anyway, you get the picture, i was amazed! =)

very stuffed, we made our way back to the hotel with intentions to visit IndoChine club. we never made it out. haha... lazy bums. =)
