we took a train from zurich to lucern and checked into a prettier hotel. =)
did a city walking tour of lucern as we were too late for the mountain tours. saw the chapel bridge and the sleeping lion monument which i have to say is pretty impressive.
anyhow, we were so stuffed we had to walk around to digest. dinner was recommended by my guidebook. it was called Old Swiss House.
As described - "This landmark half-timbered house in the city centre near the Lion Monument has fabulous decor, with oil painting and a wooden interior. The innovative cuisine is impeccably presented, deserving its 15 Gault Millau points. The Wienerschnitzel simply cannot be missed. wine cellar with 30,000 bottles includes Chateay Mouton Rothschild from 1911 onwards."
And The Wienerschnitzel is exactly what we had. its a thin slice of veal dipped in egg and parmesan cheese batter and then covered in bread crumbs and then fried in blocks of butter! and the amazing thing is this was all done in front of us! the accompanying noodles was also to die for! with such an impressive cellar, of coz we had a bottle of wine as well! and still water.... always still water which i like which arnd will roll eyes to. only because no one orders a bottle of still water when it is fresh from the tap... but but.... not high class to ask for tap water in such high-class restaurant is it ? hiaks.
